(LFA)  Welcome to the introductory series of articles written to review a scientific and nature-based system of Natural Hygiene. This revolutionary health movement had its grass roots developing up to the mid 1850’s, and pioneered by early Hygienists such as Isacc Jennings, Sylvester Graham, William A. Alcott, Mary Gove, Russel T. Trall, George H. Taylor, Felix Oswald and John H. Tilden.  To summarize in a few sentences the teachings of hygiene over the last 150 years, is to understand that it has been in direct opposition and under censorship of the medical profession. As Dr. Herbert Shelton explains:

“Instead of teaching the value of exercise, rest, sunshine, and other proper living habits, modern eductation emphasizes antibodies and immunization programs, and the dangers of malevolent micro-organisms. Instead of teaching a true mode of living that we may prevent disease, they teach a false system of disease prevention that people may continue in their pathogenic ways of living with a false sense of security. There is more money in immunizating programs than in teaching health truth.” 1

Natural Hygiene stands independent of false and unscientific practises of modern medicine. It is wholly apart from the present drugging system that corporately endorses prescribing to people various synthesized laboratory chemicals – drugs – to treat their ailments.

As a student of natural hygiene I have read a few of Dr. Herbert Shelton’s masterpiece works over the last two years, and have been actively using my learned knowledge to integrate the principles of the hygienic system into my own life.  The ‘system’, is the collected knowledge of natural existing laws of nature that human beings have been continually subjected to since the beginning of our existence.  The laws of nature are precise and exact, just and balanced. The forces that make possible the existance of all life on our habitable planet, have made it possible for human beings to be able to adapt and live in unity with our environment.  Our physical bodies have direct tangible relationships to the external world, as all the laws of nature exist simultaneously around us and inside of us as well.  All teachings of natural hygiene are fully based in scientifically proven truths and existing natural laws, tested through many repeatable experiments and data gathering analysis.

The laws of nature are constantly being defied by the many erroneous practises of the drugging cult we presently find ourselves enslaved in. Natural Hygiene firmly stands to dispel the ideas of seeking health from poisons; namely pills, potions, creams, syrups, vaccines and inhalators that doctors instruct patients to take.  Together let’s explore the reasons why drugs are toxic, and how the body rejects them to be as toxins.  In due time, one realizes that the drugs themselves keep the patients weakened and sick, and prevent full realization of health and vigour.

To conclude this introduction to natural hygiene, consider this list of timeless essential first principles by which pristine health can be achieved, restored, and maintained.

  • Access to clean, cool, drinking water
  • Access to fresh air
  • Cleanliness of the body
  • Eating of nutritious food
  • Sufficient rest and physical excercise
  • Importance of sun bathing
  • Fasting

In the next article in the series, I will be talking about a new revolutionary situation that Natural Hygiene delivers.  This body of knowledge can awake us into the reality of our own natural powers within the human body and spirit.
